One of my all time favorite things to do during the summer and fall months if I’m at home in Massachusetts during that time is do-it-yourself fruit picking.
We have it all here - strawberries, blueberries, apples, blackberries, raspberries, apples, peaches, nectarines, oh and apples. And then of course pumpkins come during yummy and delicious and pumpkin-everything October.
This past weekend my family took a quick trip to Charlton Orchards to do a little blueberry picking. We were short on time as we got there about a half hour before the place closed.
But we, my friends, are champion blueberry pickers. And boy oh boy did we go to town.
There were sooo many! We picked almost 15 pounds of blueberries in roughly 25 minutes. Go team!
That doesn’t however take into account the approximately 5 pounds of berries I ate while picking. Don’t judge.
Assorted fruit picking is one of my all time New England favorites and I’ll definitely miss the fun activity while I’m away.
But for now I’ll enjoy the goodies that will come from the ridiculous amount of blueberries we picked. Mmmm I can smell the Blueberry Buckle now.

Do you love fruit picking too? What’s your favorite thing to make from them?
