July ’14 Pre-Trip Travel Budget Roundup

This is going to be the last budget roundup that includes things like rent, utilities, car payments, etc. I’m not sure how I’m going to format things from now on but soon you’ll be seeing the stats from my actual travels!

Things went surprisingly well this month for my travel budget. I went over in my allowances for ‘Travel items’, however I’ve only been allotting myself $25 which, as we move closer to the date I leave, is becoming way too little. Moving forward this is going to be pretty much my entire expenditure for the month of August.

I also went over in my ‘Other’ budget. This stemmed mostly from all the good-bye parties and gatherings that occurred over my last few weeks in San Diego. I also bought two suitcases at Goodwill and The Salvation Army to bring home the remainder of my things. I flew home Virgin America (awesome airline by the way - very retro) and they only charge $25 per checked bag up to 50 lbs. and you can have up to 10 bags per person. Therefore it only cost me $50 to send home everything where if I’d sent it home via USPS it would have cost probably double that (I have my parents to thank for that little piece of genius).

So without much further ado I give you my July ’14 Travel Budget Roundup.
