Well as you’ll see the closer I get to actually leaving the worse I get about my budget.
My bad.
Let me explain though! There were a couple things this month that kept me from keeping my budget and I promise they are good reasons.
1. Phoenix Comic Con. It was an absolute blast to hang out in Phoenix with a few friends I’d met at San Diego Comic Con last year for a couple days. We nerded out, saw some great panels, and had an overall great time. But of course, staying in a hotel, buying a tank of gas for the road trip, and having to buy my meals at a convention wasn’t exactly cheap. But it was worth it!
2. Preparation for selling my car. In order to sell my car before I leave I had to renew the registration ($120…thanks for that California), buy the CARFAX to provide to potential buyers ($40), and buy supplies to detail my car so it looked good in pictures and in person (~$25). I also payed off the remainder of my loan so I could have the title in my possession ($1500 which I didn’t include in my budget).
3. Beginning of goodbyes. Since I am leaving so soon at this point there have been a lot of get togethers with friends in preparation for my departure from California. There have been lunches, dinners, coffees, froyo, movies, etc. While it obviously bumps up my spending considerably since I wouldn’t normally be doing those things with such frequency, since it will be a very long time until my see my friends again I consider it absolutely worth it.
So without further adieu, the damage for the month of June.
